Joe Gonyea is a criminal defense lawyer in Houston, Texas.  He began his career as a law clerk for renowned Houston lawyers Randy Schaffer and Josh Schaffer.  He continues to work in the Schaffer Firm office and aid the Schaffers with their cases.  He received a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law.   While in law school, he won a national championship in trial advocacy.

Joe Gonyea is also an Adjunct Professor at South Texas College of Law, teaching trial litigation and coaching varsity mock trial.
